We arrived in Santo Domingo last night at 10:15. We were definitely ready to get some sleep after the 4 hour drive to D.C, the flight from D.C. to Philadelphia, the 3 hour layover in Philadelphia, then the 4-5 hour flight from Philadelphia to the Dominican. Needless to say, we were zonked. It was very interesting to be the ones walking off the plain into a gauntlet of people staring at us. Its very different here. The first smell we smelled when we got off the plane was smoke. That was quite different from the cheese steak smell in the Philadelphia airport.
The accomadations here are great. The hot water is being rebellious though. This morning, we are going to breakfast at 8:00, then we are going to church. They only have morning church, so we should have the rest of the day free.
